Instruments Accepted for Release of Vehicle

 

A vehicle owner or his/her authorized representative may obtain possession of a stored vehicle upon payment of all fees due, presentation of valid identification (texas drivers license or other state or federally issued photo identification) and upon presentation of one of the following:

 

• A notarized power-of-attorney

• A court order;

• A certificate of title;

• A tax collector’s receipt and vehicle registration renewal card accompanied by a conforming identification;

• Executed proof of loss claim form an insurance company to show a right to possession;

• Salvage Right of Possession form;

• Evidence of financial responsibility (insurance card) that establishes ownership or right of possession or control;

• Name and address information corresponding to that contained in the files of the TX Dept. of Transportation’s Vehicle Titles and Registration Division; or

• A department approved Affidavit of Right of Possession and Control, which will be furnished upon request.

 

Open 24 hours a day, 7 day a week. Vehicles will be released with 1 hour notice. Towing charges will vary by type of tow and location towed from. Applicable schedules of of non-consent towing fees will be provided for viewing upon request by persons claiming vehicles.
